Cute idea for re-purposing old windows

January25

They’ve taken an old window, added some found wood to make dividers, and come up with an ideal way to showcase some awesome pottery!

We have several windows that would be great for a project like this.

Empire Sofa

January10

In American furniture, the Empire style was most notably exemplified by the work of New York cabinetmakers Duncan Phyfe and Paris-trained Charles-Honoré Lannuier. Other major furniture centers renowned for regional interpretations of the American Empire style were Boston,Philadelphia, and Baltimore. Many examples of American Empire cabinetmaking are characterized by antiquities-inspired carving, gilt-brass furniture mounts, and decorative inlays such as stamped-brass banding with egg-and-dart, diamond, or Greek-key patterns, or individual shapes such as stars or circles.

A simplified version of American Empire furniture, often referred to as the Grecian style, generally displayed plainer surfaces in curved forms, highly figured mahogany veneers, and sometimes gilt-stencilled decorations.

This sofa would probably fall into the Grecian style because of its plain form and circular gilt decoration.

The coffee table is Duncan Phyfe. Not pictured is a Duncan Phyfe smoking stand. Together, they make a beautiful set.

This chair isn’t an exact match to the sofa, however, the upholstery is the same, and the chair is included free with purchase of the sofa.

We’re open Wednesday through Saturday, so stop by!

Kitsch-y Kitchen Kuties!

December10

The Holt Howard company manufactured these wonderfully dynamic rooster salt and pepper shakers around the 1950′s. They are a modernistic take on the classic kitchen accessory of the time. Roosters have always been a favorite of collectors and this pair is in beautiful, useful condition. A bargain at $42!

“Psyche”

October17

It’s hard to capture the true, vivid colors in this lithograph print of William Sergeant Kendall’s “Psyche”. In mythology, she is Cupid’s wife, and is most often portrayed as a nymph-like, angelic girl with butterfly wings. The original oil was painted in 1909 and the lithographed prints were done in the 1940′s. This one remains in its original frame and is in beautiful condition.

“Psyche” will make her debut-appearance at the WildHare FleaMarket this weekend. The market opens Friday evening, October 21st, from 7-10 PM and runs Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 10-4.

Admission to Friday’s Grand Opening is $5. For an additional charge, there will be wine, French lemonade, cheese and chocolate tasting. Coffee tasting by Main St. Espresso will be free.

Please join us at 711 South First Avenue in Pocatello.
